BIG BLU is back: from 19 to 27 February 2011 at Fiera Roma...

BIG BLU ROMA SEA EXPO 2010 closed today, after 9 full days of events, great audience and sound business. The kermesse, held over 11 pavilions of the new Fiera Roma exhibition center from February 20 through 28, registered 140.000 visitors, 90.000 sqm of exhibiting area developed in 5 different focuses: Boat Show Roma, Gommoshow, Sistema Mare, Pelagos and World Fishing, the latter a show of its kind, loved by a crowd of  sportsfishing enthusiasts.

800 the boats on show, with some market preview, 600 the exhibiting companies, more than 400 registered representatives from the media marked  the 4th edition of an exhibition that for size, importance and outreach confirms its role of leading event for leisure marine in Central-Southern Italy and the Mediterranean Region.

A rich calendar of events accompanied the exhibition, among which the first edition of “FORUM SISTEMA MARE”, an extensive conference program set in co-operation with the Ministry for Agriculture of Italy, the MIPAAF, that offered space and stage for the discussion of crucial issues for the fishing industry and the economy of marine resources.

Great success among young sailors: more than 1000 students from schools around the Lazio region felt the emotion of helming small drifts in the big pool set up in one of the halls, wind coming from the huge, powerful fans. All the operations coached - of course - by skilful instructors from FIV - the Italian Sailing Federation.

Besides the MIPAAF, a group of prestigious partners supported BIG BLU 2010, namely Assomarinas, FIV and Lega Navale Italiana. The show was also endorsed by Regione Lazio, Province of Roma, Roma City Hall, together with Unioncamerelazio, the Chamber of Commerce of Roma and the Chamber of Commerce of Latina.

The meeting point is already set for next year with BIG BLU 2011, from February 19 through 27, again in Fiera Roma, for 9 more days of passion for leisure marine, sports fishing and the sea.
